Are you new to the world of VDE Certified insulated hand tools?
There are many different brands to choose from. Some contain certifications from the American Society for Testing and Materials or the International Electrotechnical Commission. However, the three letters you really want to see on the insulated tools you purchase are VDE.
Verband der Elektrotechnik is a globally recognized institute that’s responsible for testing and certifying tools and appliances. One of the top brands featuring VDE certification is Wiha.
Even though our company has been around for over 80 years, there’s a possibility you haven’t heard of us if you’re new to the insulated tool market. There’s no need to pick up a history book. Allow me to tell you everything you need to know about the authority on VDE certified hand tools.
The History of Wiha
Wiha was founded in 1939 and began as a small family-run business in Wuppertal, Germany. The company was forced to relocate to Schonach due to World War II, and four years later, we began producing screwdrivers.
Almost two decades later, in 1966, our company acquired a production plant and began mass-producing its tools. Then in 1985, Wiha started becoming a household name as they set up shop in the USA, France, Spain, Poland, the UK, and Nordic regions. Since going worldwide, Wiha has continued to grow in scale and popularity.
Awards and Recognition
There is not enough space on this page to list all of the awards that Wiha has won. The accolades include recognition for our product design, innovation to the industry, and our social commitment.
Most recently, Wiha Tools USA was awarded a Pro Tool Innovation Award for the 11-piece Insulated TorqueControl SlimLine Set, proving once again we’re still best in class after all these years.
Priority on Safety, Quality, and Innovation
As an international premium brand, Wiha hasn’t lost sight of its values. We continue to look for innovative ways to provide hand tool solutions to user’s needs and requirements. While remaining innovative is a crucial part of their guiding principles, keeping our customers safe is just as critical as is providing them with quality products that come with the VDE stamp of approval.
The Wiha name is just as trustworthy as the VDE symbol. It stands for quality products that you can rely on. However, Wiha isn’t settled on doing things the same way we always have. Instead, we continue to innovate, and the awards and recognition we receive are proof that we are the authority on hand tools.
